SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. — Shepherd University's Speak Story Series will present Clare Murphy on Tuesday, Sept. 17, at 7:30 p.m. at Reynolds Hall.

Murphy will perform "UniVerse," a playful exploration of the space where myth meets quantum physics, philosophy and turtles.

The Irish-born Murphy has been telling stories since 2006 on stages all over the world. Her work has taken her from telling stories to President Mary Robinson of Ireland to performing at the Writers Room of the Royal Shakespeare Company in England.

She also is a storytelling consultant for the NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory.

Admission costs $12 at the door, with express entry for Speak season ticket holders. Admission is free to Shepherd students with a valid Rambler ID.

The Speak Story Series is for adult audiences. Mature youths are allowed at their guardians' discretion.

The series is part of Shepherd’s Center for Appalachian Studies and Communities.
